Oral language is the cornerstone of early literacy development! In this engaging and interactive one-hour virtual workshop, early childhood educators (B - age 8) will explore the vital connection between oral language and later reading and writing success. Participants will learn practical strategies to foster rich oral language skills in young children.

This workshop will cover:

  • The critical role oral language plays in vocabulary, comprehension, and writing skills.
  • Effective methods for modeling language, promoting storytelling, and encouraging meaningful conversations.
  • Interactive tools and activities to support oral language development in the classroom
  • Ideas to engage families in supporting language development at home.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with practical strategies they can immediately implement in their classrooms to boost oral literacy outcomes for their students
