Spelling Bee

Grades: 3rd - 8th 

The spelling bee competition is designed to help students improve their spelling and vocabulary development. The series of spelling contests starts at the school and district levels, with winners advancing to our Region 7 Regional Spelling Bee to compete for a chance to advance to the National Spelling Bee. All schools wishing to participate in the Region 7 Regional Spelling Bee must enroll with Scripps National Spelling Bee for District materials and with Resource Training and Solutions for the Regional Spelling Bee.

We will be hosting the Region 7 Regional Spelling Bee at Ritsche Auditorium at St. Cloud State University in February.

1.) Register with Resource Training & Solutions - Register now!

Included with your registration:

  • Participant Certificates for all students participating in your District Bee
    Participation for your District Winner(s) at the Regional Spelling Bee
  • Medal for those students advancing to the Regional Bee presented at the Regional Bee on Feb. 13, 2024
  • Access to the Coordinator’s Corner with materials to help you plan your Bee

2.) Register with Scripps - Register Now!

Spelling Bee Coordinators Meeting

Spelling Bee Coordinator's meeting is for all schools wanting to participate in the 2025 Region 7 Regional Spelling Bee sponsored by Resource Training & Solutions at Ritsche Auditorium at St. Cloud State University in February.  At this meeting we will go through updates to the spelling bee program and answer any questions you may have about hosting a school level meet.

** We strongly encourage ALL Coordinators to attend this meeting.

Deadlines to Register for Spelling Bee

District Spelling Bee Weeks

  • Participating Schools should complete their District Spelling Bee between January 2 - 28, 2025.

Deadline to Submit Materials for your District Winner(s) to Participate in the Regional Spelling Bee

  • School district need to have their materials submitted by January 31, 2025 in order to participate in the Regional Spelling Bee.

National Spelling Bee Week

Registered Coordinators will receive access to the Coordinator's Corner, which will be available before the start of the new school year.
