This virtual professional development session is designed to equip teachers with strategies and tools to enhance oral language in early childhood students. Oral language is crucial in early childhood because it serves as the foundation for all future language development, including reading and writing, and is essential for children to communicate effectively, build relationships, understand the world around them, and ultimately succeed academically and socially throughout their lives. The session will cover the importance of oral language, what makes an effective oral language program, and ways to intentionally expand children’s vocabulary development in your classroom routine.

This session will also include opportunities for teachers to share experiences, discuss challenges, and collaborate on solutions. By the end of the session, participants will have a toolkit of strategies to support their students in developing their oral language knowledge .
