Level alike teachers across the state will have an opportunity to take a deeper dive into learning about the 8 Effective Teaching Practices with specific examples and resources. It will also serve as a networking event for teachers to collaborate about Evidence Based Practices and how they utilize those in their classrooms.

Part 1 of this series will highlight the practices:

Establishing mathematical goals to focus learning

Implement tasks that promote reasoning and problem solving

Build procedural fluency from conceptual understanding

Facilitate meaningful mathematical discourse

Part 2 of this series will highlight the practices:

Pose purposeful questions

Use and connect mathematical representations

Support productive struggle in learning mathematics

Elicit and use evidence of student thinking
